Confidence is a learned skill
Growing up, I was the opposite of confident. I felt awkward, unsure of myself, bulky in the body I was in, ugly and unpopular. I told myself no one actually wanted me to sit with them but I was lucky that they let me.
I was one of the heaviest girls in my grade. Gym, recess, the bus home were all miserable times of the day for me. I remember praying I had friends to sit with so I wouldn’t be alone at lunch. Like many others, this was a really hard time in my life.

What I know NOW is, that was all in my head. I was projecting an image of being the unliked outsider and my perception became my reality.
So, if you’re reading this and you are in that unsure place: I understand what you’re going through and I’m sorry you're there. It’s a painful place to be. But also know this, it gets better.
One day it clicked in my head that it didn’t have to be like that.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but I started my self love journey at that moment. I started getting to know myself and diving into what makes me happy.
✨ We can’t love ourselves if we aren’t interested in getting to know ourselves ✨
I put together a free Self Discovery Guide to kick start you on your journey. It’s one page full of questions and prompts designed to make you think a little deeper about what it is that makes you YOU. You can find it here!
Share it with a friend who you think will like it, too!
